Stepan Ivanovych Tarabalka (9 January 1993 – 13 March 2022), also referred to as "Ghost of Kyiv", was a Ukrainian military officer, a pilot and a major in the Ukrainian Air Force. He served during the Russo-Ukrainian War, including the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine.
Tarabalka was credited with taking out as many as 40 Russian aircraft until he was himself shot down on March 13 while battling an overwhelming number of enemy forces.
Tarabalka was posthumously awarded Ukraine's top medal for bravery in combat, the Order of the Golden Star, with the title Hero of Ukraine.
